In depth

Verdict

A very competitive heat with many in with chances. Star Jack has been a credit to connections this term over the chase fences and he takes a chance off a lower hurdles mark. Deep Water has been dropped significantly down the handicap since the start of the season. There is the suspicion that he needs an extra half-mile these days but he must enter calculations if the going turns soft. Prince Among Men won a seller after a long reappearance. He is clearly better than that and could steal this one from the front. Zamat found it all too much at Cheltenham in a much more competitive affair - he isn't one to discard yet despite his finishing position. We will side on this occasion with Maceo. He looks to have improved significantly this season and can handle cut in the ground. Paddy Aspell is familar with the horse and his claim may prove decisive today.
