Wildfield Rufo caught our eyes during his Hunter-Chase career but with two falls over fences, he is switched to hurdles. Unproven over ground this soft, we'll keep a watching brief for the future on Boxing Day. Tufty Hopper is not an original selection but he is a course and distance winner and with the ground likely to bottomless today, he is the one with fewest question marks against him. On the Day could run well for Lenny Lungo if handling a substantial step up in trip while Hirvine, who was a modest stayer on the flat, should be watched in the market. Of the remainder, Alexander Park is of some interest. The breeding suggests that he should like this softer surface and his canny trainer is not adverse to landing the odd touch with his novices.
