In depth
Verdict
A race of the imponderables as far as going is concerned and Great View is selected ahead of Fringe and Turn Of Phrase. Great View ran an encouraging race at Haydock on his latest start and is a horse that loves the going hock deep. It is certainly true that he is completely exposed as an individual but conditions are likely to be very testing at this point of the meeting and he does not have a lot of weight to carry under the circumstances. Jane Chapple Hyam's horses are often overbet and carrying top weight will certainly be difficult. There has been a previous outing on soft going to look at from France so Fringe cannot be dismissed out of hand. Turn Of Phrase is here in good heart and seems capable of coping with pretty much any surface. Dzesmin has performed creditably on similar surfaces in the past and has to be watched in the market. As an inmate of the Barney Curley stable, Le Soleil is invariably set to have plenty of interest. The percentage call has been to oppose Torrens on this going while Advancement appears to be the first runner of the Fahey stable. Great View is proven on the surface and is accordingly selected.
