Paul Green's Lucky Dan has shown improved form in winning two of his last three starts, including at Redcar last time, and is not without a chance of completing a hat-trick off just a 3lb higher mark than last time but this is tougher and a better bet looks to be ATLANTIC BEACH, who gets the vote over Averoo. Michael Squance's gelding has like Lucky Dan been in good form of late but has a career high mark to defy now and may not be up to the task of doing so on ground that is softer than ideal so he looks booked for a place at best. Bahamian Lad has a pedigree that suggests he would be suited by cut in the ground but his best form is on faster going as is that of Misplaced Fortune, who has more to do than when winning last time. David Barron's Elijah Pepper was good value for his win at Pontefract last time but this looks tougher and of more interest may be Wyatt Earp, although he is another that may prefer a faster surface. The ground is of no problem to Atlantic Beach though and James Hetherton's gelding can go one better than on unsuitably fast going last time.
