DIVERTIMENTI may not be a winning machine on the grass but he's in good form and can see off Cornus and Barlaman in this competitive opener. Roy Bowring's son of Green Desert probably wouldn't want much rain but he comes here in good form and is still handicapped to win races off a mark of 53. His record on the turf is not as strong as his all-weather form but a repeat of his Catterick second may be enough to win this. Cornus is another who continues to edge up the weights for defeats but Alan McCabe's experienced gelding still look fairly treated with his young jockey claiming a valuable 5lbs, Mutamared was well-backed at Lingfield last time out but failed to deliver, whilst Cape Melody needs to improve for the blinkers but is dropping in grade. A repeat of Kheley's Warwick run would see her go close, Rough Rock saves his best for Folkestone and Yarmouth, whilst Sophie's Beau was picked up after his selling win here in May and isn't the most straightforward of horses. The consistent Barlaman joins Double Carpet on the list of dangers, however we are happy to side with Divertimenti.
