PERFECT BLOSSOM has the scope to defy her 5lb rise in the weights; Exceed Power joins Drumpelier and Royal Cheer on the list of dangers. Kevin Ryan's new recruit won well at Nottingham earlier in the month when shaping as if there would be even more improvement when stepped back up in trip. She should handle this slower surface and a bold bid is expected. Exceed Power ran well at Chepstow last time and looks fairly handicapped, as does Micky P who shaped well at Yarmouth last time and the drop in trip should suit. Drumpelier is now down to a favourable mark and is not discounted lightly despite flopping as a favourite when last seen in April, Thoughtful is open to improvement and a mark of 57 looks fair, whilst Cookie Galore and Magenta Strait are both well-handicapped on the pick of their all-weather form. Royal Cheer is respected despite winning an awful maiden at Catterick last time solely because the jockey on the second dropped his hands and stopped riding. The market could prove informative in this finale but without that information we are happy to side with top-weight Perfect Blossom. Nic Doggett.
