DRUNKEN SAILOR's second in the Northumberland Plate sets him apart and although his mark continues to edge up the feeling is that he can scrape home; Sabotage and Chiberta King may fare better in this smaller field however the big challenge could come from Deauville Flyer. Luca Cumani looks set for a big afternoon on the Knavesmire and this well-travelled gelding is the form horse in the race. The longer trip at Newcastle last time was a big question mark but he stayed on well so with this trip looking ideal and the ground not an issue he is fancied to hold all challengers. Deauville Flyer started clear favourite for the Newcastle race but he could only manage a one-paced seventh. He could do with some rain in order to make this more of a slog than a sprint. Sabotage looked in rude health over the winter in Dubai and is rated much better than his two efforts over two miles this year, Chiberta King could never get close in the Plate but his beating of Gala Evening in May is solid and this smaller field will help, whilst Mojave Moon needs to improve on his small-field Listed form at Pontefract last time out. Free Agent may be fairly handicapped but is not in good form, whilst Moon Indigo has a first run for Howard Johnson since leaving Ballydoyle and is one to watch in the betting as both he and Deauville Flyer race from just out of the handicap. This could be a good chance for Drunken Sailor to get back to winning ways.
