      Verdict

      Should the ground come up soft, Maroussies Wings would have solid claims but the forecast is not positive for Pat Haslam's filly and a safer bet looks to be Guadalajara, who is preferred to Allegretto. The last mentioned is probably the pick of the classic generation in this renewal of the Fillies Leger but Sir Michael Stoute's filly has a penalty to carry for her Lancashire Oaks success and was put in her place in the Yorkshire Oaks here last time. The longer trip today may help as may less testing conditions so, she is probably best left out of calculations unless the ground does dry out. Anna Pavlova put up a career best effort to win the Galtres Stakes at the Ebor meeting but this looks tougher, while Quenched needs to improve and is not guaranteed to stay anyway. The vote then goes to Guadalajara from the in-form Godolphin stable. She has done nothing wrong in two starts this term, should have no problems with trip or ground and should be suited by the track which tends to favour those that race prominently.
