Strategic Mount may have gone up 9lbs for his win at Goodwood last month but that is fair and, provided that the ground continues to dry out, Paul Cole's improving three-year-old is taken to complete a four timer and score at the main expense of top weight Barolo and Sunday Symphony. The last mentioned made an encouraging return at Chester last month and is entitled to respect but he too would like the ground to dry out and it is hard to see him beating the selection if that happens. Balkan Knight should appreciate the return to this class having been well held in the Goodwood Cup last time but David Elsworth's gelding may be a shade high in the weights. Mudawin is now 5lbs higher than when a shock winner of the Ebor and may find this coming too soon anyway, while Greenwich Meantime is strictly held by Jane Chapple-Hyam's gelding on running at York. Barolo has done little wrong in Listed races of late and has to be respected but Walter Swinburrn's gelding looks plenty high enough in the weights and preference is for Strategic Mount in the hope that the ground does dry out.
