Army of Angels was good value for his win at Newmarket under similar conditions last month and a 6lb penalty may not stop him from following up here so Godolphin's gelding gets the vote to do just that ahead of Desert Chief and Queen's Best. The last mentioned won tidily at Ascot last time but Sir Michael Stoute's filly has, rather harshly, been raised 8lbs for that success so he may be best watched. The Mark Tompkins-trained St Petersburg has shown improved form of late but is more exposed than some of these, while All Ivory is likely to find this tougher off his new mark following on from his Ascot win last time. Vicious Warrior is closely matched with St Petersburg on running last time, while Glenbuck has been in sparkling form but the handicapper may finally now have his measure. That does not look to be the case with Army of Angels though and he gets the vote.
