Ellen Vannin, HAAFHD SHARP, Black Baccara and Watch Chain are amongst many names that enter calculations for an open race where recent positives are few on the ground. The Quinlan brothers are not afraid to have a tilt at the ring and they saddle two runners here who both sport headgear for the first time with jockey bookings suggesting that Haafhd Sharp is the stable's first string. She had a sighter of the track when having her third run over course and distance in a maiden won by a stablemate and may be able to put that experience to good use on her handicap bow. Ellen Vannin fared better last time and may benefit from being ridden by Neil Callan whilst the combination of Kieren Fallon, cheekpieces and a drop in trip may see Black Baccara bounce back to form. Stronger credentials are held by Watch Chain who showed signs of returning to form last time and will benefit from being stepped back up in trip but we'll take a shot in the dark with Haafhd Sharp.
