A couple of lightly raced sorts take the eye, most notably Futuristic Dragon and Glencal, however we will side with Gleaming Spirit who ran well in defeat last time out and can gain compensation today. The selection ran in a better race than this last time out (quantity rather than quality today) and looked the winner until being headed on the line. He proved that fast ground suits that day and he is fancied to gain his first win on his seventh start. Futuristic Dragon has the blinkers on for the first time having played up before the race last time out and also proving wayward during the race itself. He does have some ability so could be the fly in the ointment for the selection. Glencal let down backers last time out but ran fairly well in third so should be respected along with Nawayea who broke his run of places when last seen. However, unfortunately for backers that was with a seventh-placed finish and he needs to bounce back. Musical Chimes and Welsh Auction are two that could run well at big prices, however we will return to Gleaming Spirit as the nomination.
