Although he is not one for the mortgage Platinum Charmer has obvious claims in a race like this and is selected in preference to Successor and Acuzio, while Mr Kalandi is worth monitoring now that he reverts to the Flat. Mr Kalandi has long threatened to win a race and should appreciate the drop into this grade. The trip is not a problem for him and he can go well at a fair price for each-way players. Acuzio is effective in races like this and should be monitored closely in the betting. He will be a prime candidate to set the pace and can prove hard to pass if Kelly Harrison can keep him settled. Successor is also in good form and arrives here after winning under today's pilot at Nottingham last week. The 6lb penalty is not such a worry at this level, but his lack of previous consistency has to be of concern. Therefore, we take our chance with Platinum Charmer, who has enjoyed a renaissance this season. Kelly Burke has caught the eye with her riding style of late and this looks another fair opening for her to display her talents.
