A twenty runner maiden handicap is hardly the most attractive betting proposition of the day, so Rowanberry is a far from confident choice to lead home the likes of Bunkhouse, Jacks Delight and King Egbert. There may be more to come from the last named and he has fair claims if his 7lb claimer and get the best out of him. However, he will be trying to achieve what the likes of Jimmy Fortune and Kerrin McKevoy have failed to do on that score and he looks to be one that saves a little for himself. Bunkhouse has bits and pieces of form that would give him a chance in a race like this. Richard Hills got on well with him here earlier in the month and a bold bid can be expected again today. Jacks Delight has been hard to predict this season but gave a fair account of himself at Hamilton last month. He could be good value to make the frame. However, preference goes to Rowanberry, who has arguably dropped the most significant hints that her turn is not too far away. She ran another solid race when she was just run out of things at Musselburgh eight days ago. And repeat effort while she is in such good heart would be good enough to suffice here
