Not much reliable evidence to go on, so a chance is taken with Patavium, whose yard have an excellent strike-rate with their juveniles this season. Peas 'n Beans is another interesting debutante to keep an eye on, while Renderoc and Neardown Beauty set the standard from those that have already gained some racing experience. Neardown Beauty got going late on her debut and is expected to improve for the step to a mile. Her yard have been struggling for winners of late, though. And she may need a little more time. Renderoc posted a pleasing performance at Leicester and should also appreciate this step up in trip. However, he was hanging slightly under pressure and may not be the most straightforward of characters. Peas 'n Beans is from a good family and his yard have introduced several decent types at this track. A mile should suit him ideally on pedigree and he is worth considering if the market vibes are right. However, the same has to be said of Patavium, who was bred by Mick Channon and races for a yard that have really caught the imagination this season. This son of Titus Livius has a back up plan to head to Lingfield on Saturday, so it is safe to assume that his connections are keen for him to race. And considering Eoghan O'Neill's record with youngsters this season, Patavium is the first one to have a look at in the betting for us.
