A competitive start to proceedings and Excessive gets the vote ahead of Matterofact and Scuba. The selection was only foiled in a photograph when last seen and that was a fair effort on his first crack at seven furlongs. More patient tactics were employed on that occasion given that he had raced prominently in the past, but from a good draw here he can gain a good early pitch and strike when the time is right. Green Pirate, Benny The Bus and Scuba all bring course and distance wins to the table and the best of those could be Scuba. Hughie Morrison's charge is very consistent however a wide berth will make life tougher. Baby Dordan is yet to win in nine starts but Harry Dunlop's charge ran well at Lingfield last time and is at his best over this trip.
