Merrymadcap has rather harshly been raised 3lbs for his short-head success over New World Order over the extended nine furlongs here earlier this month, with the third that day only a further head behind, and he looks worth taking on with preference for Red Rudy who gets the vote ahead of Pitbull. The last mentioned was good value for his win at Carlisle last time but he may struggle to confirm that form back on the Polytrack today so he looks best watched. Red Birr has been running consistently well of late but may prefer a stiffer test of stamina than is provided by this trip, while War Anthem is less exposed than most but is another that may prefer further. Paradise Dancer does not appear to be particularly well treated for his debut in this grade and preference is for Red Rudy. Tony Carroll's gelding has been running consistently well of late on turf, handles the Polytrack just as effectively and remains well enough treated to take this.
