This is a distinctly moderate contest to get proceedings underway and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Twinned, who is marginally preferred to Duke Of Milan and Alto Vertigo. The selection showed improved form over course and distance last time, despite a difficult looking draw, and looks worth an investment from stall two off the same mark today. Duke Of Milan is capable but, like most of these, has a poor strike-rate and has been done few favours with an outside berth. Elvina has struggled since landing a poor classified stakes race here in January but cannot be discounted in this company. Sofinella lost no caste in defeat last time and has to be considered, while Meikle Barfil similarly ran better last time and is another worthy of a mention. Pat Haslam's Alto Vertigo is less exposed than most of these and has claims but marginal preference is for Twinned, who is taken to gain a deserved success.
