Hamish McGonagall can land this maiden at the main expense of Elizabeth Swann and Sweet Mind. The selection hails from the Tim Easterby yard and he showed plenty of promise on his racecourse debut. He then built on that with a close third behind Inxile at Haydock last time out. He is clearly going the right way and he has ground conditions to suit so he looks the one to beat. Elizabeth Swann is the obvious danger as this filly from the Richard Hannon stable chased home Missit on her debut at Lingfield. However she was beaten by 5 lengths that day so she will need to improve to get her head in front. Sweet Mind has a good draw and this filly from the Richard Fahey yard shaped well and was not given a hard time on her debut. She should improve for the experience and she is not without a chance. Emperors Jade is an interesting newcomer from a top yard and he could go well at a big each-way price, but Hamish McGonagall makes plenty of appeal and he can land the prize.
