An open affair to begin with and the narrow vote goes to Thornaby Green ahead of Sumner and Kindlelight Blue. The selection has winning form on firm ground and this front-runner is well drawn today to try and make all. He has gone up 5lbs in the weights for his recent success, however he still looks capable of defying his revised mark this afternoon. Sumner hasn't really gone on since winning on his reappearance outing, his first in a handicap. A rise up the weights and contesting better races could be the reasoning behind his lack of recent successbut this race looks easier so he warrants respect, along with Emperor's Well who has winning course form and goes on any ground. Dual-performer Nota Liberata has only won once in 23 starts under both codes, and may prefer slower ground, whilst Kindlelight Blue has so far proven to be better on the all-weather than the turf. He is still relatively unexposed, although a higher turf mark makes him vulnerable. At a price Jackie Kiely could go well, however Thornaby Green is fancied to make all.
