Unpenalised, Kindlelight Debut can record her second victory in four days at the expense of the improving Heartcrusher and Red Birr in this competitive 9f handicap. Nick Littmoden's mare landed some hefty bets when hammering some in-form rivals over 7f on Monday. However, the mare has form over this longer trip, her fourth to Blue Patrick being a particularly solid effort. Littmoden is forced to run Kindlelight Debut here before the horse is re-handicapped on Tuesday. She escapes a penalty because the win came in an apprentice race and the selection can still run here off a mark that is a pound below her previous winning mark. James Doyle again rides and the draw in six is ideal for a horse coming off the pace. This, however, is a tightly-knit event. Heartcrusher represents Alan Swinbank, another handler in good form. The 4-y-o won an ordinary maiden at Wolverhampton on her debut on the all-weather for Swinbank. It gets Heartcrusher in on a tempting mark of 62. Heartcrusher cost ¿65,000 as a yearling and ultimately proved disappointing for Mick Halford. But Swinbank has proved his worth with this type of animal who should continue to improve. Paul Webber is an excellent handler with others' cast-offs and he has rejuvenated Red Birr. The former Linda Ramsden runner, who was once rated 82, stormed to victory off a mark of just 58 in a ten-furlong handicap at Lingfield before Christmas. Having been raised just 6lb for that success, Red Birr is potentially still well handicapped. You have to question whether he will be as effective at Wolverhampton (he's never run here) and Dane O'Neill, who got on so well with him at Lingfield, is on holiday so Chris Catlin takes over. It's conceivable the bookies will go 3-1 the field and only a tentative vote is given to Kindlelight Debut to complete a four-day double.
