After an easy victory last time out Mick Channon's LA GIFTED can defy a penalty and land a hat-trick by getting the better of Shakespeare's Son and Royal Challenge in this seven furlong handicap. Allowed to turn out without weight added to her back on her last start following a victory the pick took full advantage to score by two lengths making it two wins from three starts over course and distance. This time she is lumbered with a six pounds penalty for her troubles but that extra weight wouldn't have stopped her last time so if running up to that performance she should go in again. Shakespeare's Son has won just once in 29 appearances but did only just miss out by a head when two pounds better off last time. He nearly got to the winner that day and if that race had been over this slightly longer trip he would have. Royal Challenge was expected to take a claimer last time but was very disappointing, however, on the pick of his form is well weighted now back in a handicap while Guildenstein now looks good value for a place prize off his current mark Only a few make any appeal here and on her current form La Gifted is hard to oppose.
