Our Acquaintance is selected here ahead of Rathmolyon and Lavande. Our Acquaintance has shown promise on each start, even though only eighth on soft going at Newmarket last time out. He has earned a rating of 76, which is more than good enough to warrant serious consideration in this event, even though it is his all-weather debut. By the same sire as Our Acquaintance, Rathmolyon comes firmly into it too based on her second to Dresden Doll at Bath last time. She is rated 77 and has to be considered a major player too. Lavande met trouble in running but then stayed on for a good second to Cute Ass at Musselburgh last time and is another to give some thought to in this contest. Finally, Kaystar Ridge showed promise here on run two but you will have to forgive him a poor Turf run last time if getting involved and, by Captain Rio and having cost 25,000 guineas, Captain Crooner is the interesting newcomer but, for the selection, we will stick with Our Acquaintance.
