SIR IKE is in decent form and he can gain his third win in his last four starts at the main expense of Mutamared and Resplendent Nova. Although Stuart Kittow's gelding has a lot to find on the official ratings, he is one of just a couple of runners who actually come here in good form. His two wins have come at Chepstow and Folkestone but he has some fair Lingfield form to his name and despite a wide draw he is preferred. Mutamared's recent efforts have been over six furlongs but he disappointed last time out at Thirsk in what looked a weak seller, so a bigger threat may be the 85-rated Resplendent Nova. Paul Howling's runner is dropped back in class and although he has disappointed in this grade before, there is no doubt that he has plenty of ability and his best efforts have been on an artificial surface. Course winners Divertimenti and Sea Land need respect, as does Royal Challenge with the weight that he receives from his rivals despite a lack of solid recent form. At the other end of the weights the pair of Sammy The Snake and Charles Parnell cannot be overlooked, but they are badly out of form unlike Sir Ike who is narrowly preferred.
