Nonrunner
A good race but one that looks tricky to solve with the majority of the runners needing to return to form. We're going to go with MAGICALMYSTERYTOUR ahead of Warringah and Resplendent Light. Maadraa brings the best recent form into the race and is unexposed but this is potentially a significantly tougher task than he faced at Newmarket so is opposed. King Supreme has been running well but isn't easy to win with and he lacks the class of some of his rivals at their best. Warringah wilted in the face of a tough task in the Leger but ran abysmally on his return to action at York and has a good bit to do if he's going to fulfil the promise of last season. Group Captain hasn't won for a couple of years but is on a fair enough mark and hasn't been performing too badly but Resplendent Light has struggled since getting the better of Warringah in the Bibury Cup a year ago although his yard is beginning to hit some form. The selection represents the yard that was responsible for the 2007 winner of this race and should be all the better for his reappearance in a Newbury Listed race. He has no easy task at the weights but has plenty to recommend him on last season's form and Magicalmysterytour may be able to lead us down Penny Lane on the road to riches.
