A twenty runner handicap to complete a very competitive card, and we take a chance on Nivernais, with many dangers including Polar Impact, Sir Don and Dave. Following a steady drop in the weights, the selection put up his best performance of the season when finishing a close up third behind Mimic at Salisbury last time. Ground and trip will not be a problem and this one looks sure to go close under Dane O'Neill. Polar Impact has to shoulder ten stones, but has earned it with some great performances this season. His recent fourth behind Johnny Ebeneezer at Sandown has been well advertised and a big run can be expected again. Sir Don may need to drop a few pounds before winning again, but may be good enough to sneak a place. Dave caused a bit of a shock when landing an apprentice handicap last month and should make a bold bid to follow up under the champion jockey. Sewnuch Character is another that can't be ignored, but Nivernais appears to be returning to his best and gets our vote
