      Verdict

Campeon, Hopelessly Devoted and Roko look the three to concentrate on in this opener and the tentative vote is given to Campeon. The selection has a good attitude and was narrowly beaten after a brave effort when second behind Megell last time out at Yarmouth. A reproduction of that effort should suffice here and as such he is taken to score. Hopelessly Devoted won well on heavy ground at Haydock last time when beating Paris Tapis. The slight step up in trip will not be a problem but this is a more difficult race and she is narrowly passed over. Roko finished behind Hopelessly Devoted in that race but hung quite badly under pressure. He is not one to dismiss lightly and he looks to have place prospects with conditions more to suit here. Of the remainder, Danescourt made a promising racecourse debut and is worth noting in the market, but for the winner we return to Campeon.
