REQUISITE gets the vote to beat fellow last time out scorer Imprimis Tagula, with Another Try, Cut The Cackle and Memphis Man others worthy of a mention. Ian Wood's charge won tidily at Yarmouth earlier in the week, travelling like the best horse in the race and putting the contest to bed in a matter of strides. Over this trip the mare seems best on quick ground but she has won with cut over shorter and remains well treated on old form, so our hope is she's rekindled her enthusiasm for the game and can go in again. Memphis Man won by the narrowest of margins at Nottingham in the week, landing a few bets in the process, but he's got more on his plate here in this much better contest and may have to settle for a minor role, with Imprimis Tagula a more likely threat. Alan Bailey's charge is better known for his exploits on the all-weather but showed he can win races on turf with a decisive enough success at Newmarket last time. Up just 3lbs for that he's not to be discounted as he is a horse who knows what it takes to rack up a sequence. Another Try was a shade disappointing when sent off favourite last time but many will give him another chance as all three wins have come over this trip and he has a lovely racing weight here. Cut The Cackle won a handicap here off 82 in 2008 so she should be competitive off this markedly lower rating, especially as the step back down from seven furlongs will suit. She placed over this trip at Goodwood last year off a higher mark and in a better race so appeals as well treated, although we'd like to have seen more from her this term. Victorian Bounty has no more to do than when third over course and distance last time and he's another to be rated significantly lower than his last winning mark whilst Viking Spirit has long appealed as the type to pop up in one of these but if you're backing him to do so a chance is being taken as he looks to have his own ideas and may need some rain. Make My Dream has work to do with Victorian Bounty and has to prove he truly gets six so in a wide open race we'll return to Requisite.
