In depth
Verdict
Azeer and Royal Intruder make it onto the short list here but the selection is Seeking Star. Seeking Star showed plenty of promise when keeping on for fourth place on his Newmarket debut and, given that his stable's two-year-olds have been improving for a run of late, he looks to be a leading player in division two of the maiden. Dresden Doll's Newmarket debut fourth behind Liberty Belle contained some promise, and Huzzah has shown promise in each start to date in fairly well-contested maidens. Among the potentially interesting newcomers are the 28,000 guineas purchase, Asian Power, Peter Chapple-Hyam's 130,000 dollars acquisition, Azeer, Richard Hannon's 62,000 guineas buy, Royal Intruder, Nick Littmoden's 130,000 euros purchase, Valentino Sky, Ed Dunlop's 72,000 guineas son of Rock Of Gibraltar, Wannarock, and Walter Swinburn's Shifting Star. Overall, though, the vote stays with Seeking Star.
