In depth

Verdict

The short list here contains Rationale, Killimandscharo and Street Life, with the selection being Killimandscharo. Killimandscharo has been in great form since December, winning three times, and we do not rule him out of a good run again from his current rating, hence his nomination as the selection. Fantoche needs to improve on his best Turf efforts in Britain if he is to score, while Kerriemuir Lass now has it to prove from her revised mark. Rationale's winning run came to an end on Ascot's soft going in October but, if stripping fit for his seasonal return, certainly cannot be ruled out of possessing further improvement. Very Agreeable ran well for a long way at Newmarket last time and there is a school of thought that says he does not want the going to be too firm, while Magicalmysterytour was just behind him there and should improve on what was his seasonal return; he was quite highly tried last season. Polish Power has to replicate his all-weather form if he is to get involved, while Lemonette keeps edging up the ratings for getting beaten but, a consistent filly, she can go well again. Of the bottom four in the weights, Cavallini at least showed a bit more sparkle last time, while Street Life comes here seeking a straight hat-trick of wins and is another to consider in an open heat. Once again, though, the selection is Killimandscharo.
