In depth
Verdict
In the fillies' handicap, Algarade is selected ahead of Miss Saafend Plaza and House Maiden. Sir Mark Prescott's very well-bred Algarade has to be considered stepping up in trip today as she has shown plenty of promise for the future based on two all-weather efforts, the latest of them being a win. Miss Saafend Plaza has at least dropped to a modest mark on Turf and her latest run here is best ignored as she was hampered and then eased. Vallemeldee suggested at Nottingham last time that a step up to today's trip should suit so improvement today would not be a surprise, and Paradise Walk is another that should appreciate today's trip while House Maiden's Sandown fourth behind Lady Gloria has been franked since and she is another potential improver. Overall, though, the vote goes to Algarade.
