Brabazon and Rahy's Crown are in good form this season and look certain to be involved in the finish, however we will take a chance on the handicap debutante Karshaan. Peter Winkworth's gelding contested three decent maidens last season and improved with each run. His final effort was a close up fifth behind Los Cabos at Bath. The third and fourth home that day are now rated in the mid-eighties and so on that evidence he could be thrown in off today's mark. Brabazon wasn't beaten too far behind Ogee over course and distance last time and a similar effort today should see him on the premises. Rahy's Crown hit winning form at Warwick back in April, he still looks on a fair mark and if getting the run of the race he should be capable of making the frame. Recent Wolverhampton winner Oporto may do best of the others, but Karshaan looks the pick of the weights this afternoon and he gets our vote.
