Withdrawn
Hand Painted has claims but we have reservations about his draw; VAMOS and Captain Kallis are both better drawn and could fare better. A wide draw is far from ideal but Peter Makin has his string in form and boasts a level stakes profit at the track whilst his charge has caught the eye more than once. Aside from the draw, his performance in January is a concern but he showed more than enough in turf maidens to believe that he can be competitive from this mark. The Gask team have found winners hard to come by of late but it would be no surprise to see Vamos show up well having stayed on well over five at Bath at the end of April. That was an encouraging handicap bow and his run at Lingfield in March suggests he's feasibly treated. Green Poppy is worth considering from a low draw but needs to have improved over the winter and more obvious claims are held by Captain Kallis who has been given every chance by the handicapper and must be involved. Headgear may assist Handcuff, Minturno and Lucky Buddha have chances without jumping off the page and we'll take Vamos to leave them trailing in his wake.
