Verdict
BILLY BEETROOT ticks all the right boxes and is selected to get the ball rolling for us at Beverley. You Avin A Laugh and Noodles Blue Boy make appeal from others berthed high in the stalls, while Fashion Icon also catches the eye amongst the rest. The last named was a touch disappointing last time out. But she is dropped in grade and, as she may be sharpened up for the fitting of blinkers; David Barron's filly is no forlorn hope. From an official mark of 70, Noodles Blue Boy would be conceding the rest in excess of 8lb if this were a handicap, so has an obvious chance on these terms. However, as the assesor has already dropped him 13lbs, he is rapidly blowing away the memories of a promising juvenile campaign. A failure to sparkle again today will leave his connections with very few options left to explore. You Avin A Laugh switches to turf after a series of fair efforts on the all-weather. The son of Bertolini has a small race within him and this appears to be the right grade for him to shine. However, Billy Beetroot has left a trail of clues in his recent outings and can finally put the pieces together in this company. William Carson gets on well with the three-year-old and, from a favourable draw, the partnership appear to have a great chance to set the record straight today.
