    In depth

    Verdict

A wide-open handicap features plenty of runners coming here in great form. Fourth Dimension is racing on the back of three wins at Yarmouth and despite moving up in the handicap and running here under a five pound penalty is on the upgrade and is open to further improvement. Decoy is closely matched to Fourth Dimension having finished in front of him and then behind him at Yarmouth. There is little between the pair and Decoy too showed he remains in great form winning at Warwick last time out. Kent has always been regarded as a dirt specialist having won seven times at Southwell, however he finally broke his turf duck at Ripon last time out. That race's form is slightly dubious with the contest having been run at a slow pace and although he remains on a decent handicap mark may find one or two too good here. Battle Warning is another who has hit form however remains better on a slower surface than he will get at Warwick. Marrel is of definite interest here having come back from a break to run respectably at Wolverhampton on his last two starts. He is better on turf and with stamina in abundance will appreciate this return to a longer trip. Bold Ewar is difficult to win with but has been running in much better company and must be respected in this grade in what is a wide-open contest.
