Shoeshine Boy is on a longish losing sequence but has dropped down to a most attractive handicap mark and gave notice of a return to winning form when runner-up at Chester last time. Greenwood took advantage of a lenient rating when a narrow winner at Salisbury but may struggle to follow up off his revised mark but Blue Velvet was far from disgraced in the Gosforth Cup on his latest start and should go close at this level.
