In depth

Verdict

CAWTHORNE has jumped fences on five of his six starts for current connections, but impressed when landing his sole hurdling start for the yard. He's rated 5lb lower over timber and sets the standard with talented Toby Wynne claiming a useful 5lb. The concern is the ground - he would not want conditions to become soft. Fanfaron Dino is an interesting contender in that he was back to form last time over hurdles after an abortive chasing attempt and should have more to offer despite a 6lb rise. Theonlywayiswessex is unexposed but does need to improve and Begin The Luck could prove a greater threat after a notably better effort latest. And keep an eye on Bashful - he's shown little over timber but went nicely enough in low-grade contests on the Flat this season and now sports a first-time hood.
