Gaelic Gift can beat Cyd Charisse, with Zuleta and Barfleur worth a mention. Gaelic Gift was produced fit and ready to make all at Lingfield three weeks ago, hanging on by a short-head in the end. However, as there was an 18-length gap back to the third horse, the form should stand up, and despite a rise in the weights, the daughter of Presenting can be followed again, especially on this slightly better ground. Her main rival appears to be Cyd Charisse who came good round here in May before finding one too good at Bangor on her return three weeks ago. Her tendency to jump to the right cost her ground that day, and she has to give 6lb to the selection, which should tilt the scales in favour of the latter. Of the remainder, course-and-distance winner Barfleur will be better for the run, as will Newton Abbot winner Zuleta. Gaelic Gift can make all again.
