Set those alarm clocks because this is an early start and the nomination goes to Classic Descent ahead of Tharawaat and Kingdom Of Fife. The selection has shown ability in two starts to date and shapes as if the extra furlong this afternoon will suit. The stable are not exactly awash with winners at the moment so this could provide a timely boost. Driven is one who needs more time before we see him at his best, so of more interest may be Tharawaat. This race doesn't look as competitive as the one that he contested last time out and this son of Alhaath should run well. Kingdom Of Fife is just one of several newcomers who catch the eye, and whilst he may need further in time, he cannot be ruled out if the market speaks in his favour. Star Pattern and Navajo Joe were both expensive purchases and represent stables more than capable of getting one ready, whilst at a price Black Rain should go well with the drop in trip likely to suit. An open affair, and Classic Descent gets the tentative nod.
