Verdict

DEMOLITION can confirm his superiority over Rosebay en route to what would be a deserved success. Shaloo Diamond has to be respected, while Coeur De Lionne and Rangefinder also merit consideration. Rangefinder won five times during his time in Italy, so obviously has the ability to play a part in a race of this nature. This is his first try over a mile and a half and a big run would open new avenues for the five-year-old to explore. Coeur De Lionne finally added to his tally with a gutsy win at Newmarket at the start of last month and, even under a 5lb hike up the ratings, is still well treated in comparison to his three-year-old campaign. That was his first win on turf, though, and he needs to prove he can consistently deliver the goods on grass. Rosbay has a bit to find with the selection from their recent encounters. Tim Easterby's charge does have a good attitude, though; he can represent good value for a place in the frame. Shaloo Diamond also comes into the reckoning and will be a big threat if he runs to the best of his abilities. However, Demolition is holding his form well just now and, as he seems impervious to the state of the ground, Noel Wilson's gelding takes the eye as a solid proposition at this level.
