Verdict
With the stable in such good form Mark Johnston's Penny Cross could be good enough to make a winning reappearance, with the exposed Ground Zero and lightly-raced Home Fleet the obvious dangers. Penny Cross had just one start as a two-year-old, finishing fourth behind subsequent Group 3 winner Tante Rose at Newmarket last back-end. She can improve on that, especially over this extra furlong, and with the Middleham yard in top gear at present she is hard to oppose. Ground Zero is officially rated 78 after some fair efforts as a juvenile, and if running up to that level he would probably be good enough to get a place here. The one who is hard to assess is Henry Cecil's Home Fleet, a well-bred colt who was well beaten on his debut at Lingfield but is almost certainly capable of better and is one to watch in the market.
