Verdict
A wide open contest gets proceedings under way and many can be given chances on there best form. Shays Lane, Amber Moss, Nip On and Commanche Quest are all sure to have there supporters. But we prefer to take a chance on Monty's Quest. The gelding from the Peter Beaumont yard won in good style a couple of runs ago before being let down by his jumping at Perth last time out. he is sure to have been well schooled since and any easing in the ground would help his cause. Shays Lane was well behind King's Bounty on his chase debut. However he is sure to have learnt from the experience and he is another who will not mind cut in the ground. Amber Moss was very disappointing last time out but that was on fast ground and his best efforts have been on soft ground so if there was a lot of rain he would enter calculations at his best. Nip On would have a chance on his best hurdles and if he took to fences he would have place claims. Commanche Quest is another that would enter calculations at best but his yard has been woefully out of form of late. Of the remainder Ta Ta For Now would have a chance on his best hurdle form but has not progressed as expected over fences.
