A high draw is paramount in sprint handicaps here, and Elvington Boy is confidently selected to make all from stall 20, with Matty Tun, Night Runner, Strensall and Paddywack also on the shortlist. Mick easterby's gelding loves to force the issue over the minimum trip and will have the perfect opportunity here, drawn right on the stands rail. He did not fair too badly on his reappearance high from a relatively poor draw, and with that run under his belt he is confidently fancied to land the spoils here. Strensall finished ahead of the selection in the race mentioned, finishing second to Charlie Parkes on that occasion, and he is again likely to go close here from a fair draw. Matty Tun put up a good performance when fifth behind Piccled in a big field at Doncaster and, having developed physically since last year, can also be expected to run well. Others to note include David Chapman's Paddywack, who has excuses for some recent poor efforts and is well handicapped on his best form, and Night Runner, one of two Tim Easterby-trained runners in this, who won some good races last year and would have to be considered if forward enough for his seasonal debut
