Not a particularly strong maiden and PALACEFIELD is taken to land it from Ishe Mac and Royal Defence. The drop back in trip looks a positive for the selection, who has thus far had a couple of runs over a mile at Yarmouth. Fast ground should pose no problem, although his draw could have been better, but he does look the most likely winner. Ishe Mac steps up from 6f and goes well on a sound surface. The yard has had so few runners of late that is it hard to say whether it is in form or not, but purely based on what she has achieved so far the filly merits respect. Royal Defence is a Refuse To Bend colt who made a pleasing Chester debut in September and looks very much like being able to build on that today. David Barker expected to see improvement from Cry Of Truth for her recent Catterick debut and with Paul Hanagan a good booking she too could take a much closer hand. Fanstasy Land and Steel Trade are not ruled out of making significant strides today either, but we'll side with Palacefield.
