There is very little form for backers to go on in the concluding bumper although two of the field, Swing State and Alpine Breeze, do have winning form but both are likely to struggle under their penalties and preference is for SKINT. Nicky Henderson's gelding lacks any racecourse experience but the four-year-old is bred to be useful being by King's Theatre out of an Alflora mare and he would not need to be anything out of the ordinary to win first time out. Sparky May ran promisingly on her debut but disappointed at Sandown subsequently, while Bill Turner's Edlomond had little chance with the winner at Ludlow on his first start but ran well and has to be considered. Tony Carroll's Swing State won well at Huntingdon in October and was not disgraced under his penalty here last time so he makes more appeal than Newbury winner Alpine Breeze, who was well held under her penalty last time. It is never easy for horses under penalties in bumpers though and it may be worth siding with Skint, who looks the pick of the newcomers.
