GENERAL TUFTO can bounce back to form although Uncle Brit and Swiss Art are likely to have their supporters. The selection won't be wanting for fitness as he has been kept busy on the turf but it is on this fibresand surface that he is at his best, as he proved with four successes at the beginning of the calendar year. Uncle Brit was easy to back ahead of a recent handicap over course and distance but that didn't stop him landing the spoils. He would not be the first Sir Mark Prescott handicapper to prosper from a low base figure. Swiss Art has ran creditably in claimers. It was disappointing that he was unable to deliver last time out but Ruth Carr has had winners at the weekend. Kingsholm failed over hurdles but off today's mark, there is a cogent argument to suggest he can be a factor. Chosen Forever won a maiden for connections last year and cannot be as bad as his reappearance effort suggests. Hawkeyethenoo won readily at Beverley. He cut no ice at Wolverhampton so the market is watched on his first use of this surface. Walter Swinburn had a first time out handicap winner at Pontefract on Friday so it will be interesting to see how Saute gets on having had three inauspicious efforts thus far. Byron Bay appears better on an artificial surface but he will need to leave behind a couple of moderate efforts on the turf and over hurdles. Allformary has been disappointing although the yard are in significantly better form than what they were. General Tufto gets the nod at the likely odds.
