In depth

Verdict

This promises to be an interesting maiden in which the ground will play a key role. BABY DOTTIE is suggested in a race where a few make plenty of appeal and they include the likes of Butch And Sundance, Email Exit and Farmers Wish. Pat Phelan's filly made a pleasing debut on the all-weather track at Lingfield when chasing home a more experienced and promising rival despite having the worst of the draw. Her pedigree suggests that she'll act on soft ground and she receives plenty of weight from a number of the principals. Poppy N'Penny disappointed at Nottingham and isn't certain to handle cut whereas stablemate Wanchai Whisper may well do and is worth a check. Farmers Wish was no match for Super Sprint second Shamandar but there's nothing wrong with that form and she promises to be equally effective with cut in the ground. Butch And Sundance shaped well on ground that may have been faster than ideal and is a potential improver along with Email Exit whose stable saddles an interesting newcomer in Strike A Deal. We can throw Quaestor and Kings Bayonet into the hat too to further complicate matters so hopefully the betting will help to paint a clearer picture but we'll take Baby Dottie to dot up.
