Hawkit is given another chance to land that elusive first win with Denver, Arctic Queen, Kingsmaite and Music Mix catching the eye as possible alternatives. The Jamie Osborne-trained selection has finished second or third in each of his five races to date, and was a beaten favourite over course and distance last time he ran, which was six days ago. That form equates to a mark in the low 70s so, while that is not out-of-the-ordinary, he still has a lot of ticks in the right boxes. Denver is interesting in that this 770,000 euros purchase has his first run for Brian Meehan after showing promise for Aidan O'Brien in Ireland. The newcomer Arctic Queen could also play a part. A half-sister to the same stable's winning fair handicapper Arctic Desert, she would not have to be exceptional to play a part at the first time of asking. Kingsmaite's second here last time over seven furlongs gives him a shout for a place, while the best of Cottingham's Turf form suggests that the same can be said of him. Music Mix regressed here last time from a reasonable debut effort so needs to do something to win back the voters. In this particular election, we'll give Hawkit another chance.
