A competitive handicap may go to Steel Blue, with the likes of Quito, Dancing Mystery, Now Look Here and Kathology not out of it by any means. Quito in particular should not be ruled out, given that he was good enough to win the Ayr Gold Cup, and if he can be brought back to the boil, will be a big danger. Dancing Mystery has been a prolific winner during his career, and gained his first success in two years when beating Steel Blue at Doncaster, with Now Look Here third. That race could be the key to finding today¿s winner as a look at the revised weights reveals that Steel Blue is 11lbs better off with his conqueror, while Now look Here gets a 10lb turnaround. Therefore, Steel Blue comes out as the logical selection, although dangers abound. Classy on turf, and good enough to win at the likes of Newmarket in the past, if Richard Whitaker¿s charge takes to the all-weather, he can pay to follow this winter. Kathology is no back number, and based on his Epsom win in April, is another classy recruit to the sand. All in all, this is quite a good race to light up the midweek fare, and on in which Steel Blue can return to winning ways.
