In depth

Verdict

With no fewer than nine course and distance winners in the field, there are plenty of the 14 runners that can be given a chance in this competitive handicap including the first two home in a similar contest last week, Where's Reiley and Guto, but it is FIGARO FLYER that gets the nod. The selection is closely matched with Guto on their running here in August but is now 3lbs better in for three-quarters of a length and can reverse that form and gain a well deserved success. Forever's Girl is one of the few runners in the race without winning form here but she has gone well here before and has been running well of late so has to be considered. Although sixth, Richard Fahey's Bo McGinty was not beaten far at Wolverhampton last time and will not be inconvenienced by the return to the Fibresand, while First Swallow was not beaten far by Where's Reiley and Guto last time and is another to consider. Mel Brittain's Lujiana has been running consistently well of late, winning back-to-back races here last month and she has to be respected but may be a shade high in the weights now and a better bet looks to be Figaro Flyer, who can resume winning ways back on the Fibresand.
